Since the first edition of 1974, the dictionary has been regularly revised. The first electronic WYHLIDAL German-English/E-G dictionary was published in 1993.

The new WYHLIDAL versions are superb professional dictionaries. Thanks to the inclusion of terminology reflecting advances in technology, the number of key words has grown from 45,000 entries in the first German-English edition of 1974 to more than 712,000 in the WYHLIDAL 2009 Industrial Professional edition.
